Katie Noe joined Esperanza as a Law Clerk on the Representation team in September 2021, and was promoted to Staff Attorney in December 2021. Katie was delighted to return to Esperanza after her past experience as an intern with Esperanza's Legal Orientation Program for detained adults. Katie is licensed to practice law in California. She is a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law and a member of the Order of the Coif. She is also a former English as a Second Language teacher. Katie worked in public education for eight years before attending law school. As a teacher, Katie witnessed students and their families suffering due to unfair immigration laws and policies, including family separation. This injustice motivated her to become a lawyer. Whether through teaching or providing legal assistance, Katie enjoys helping other people overcome challenges. She also loves to meet people from all over the world.
