Angelica Gutierrez-Ramos
Legal Assistant
Angelica was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia; the city where she earned her law degree at Universidad del Rosario. Having always had a deep interest in mental health and a desire to connect that passion with her legal background, she travelled all the way to London to undertake a master’s degree in Mental Health, Ethics and Law at King’s College London. Upon her return to Bogota, she worked as a professor in her alma mater, Universidad del Rosario, where she taught Introduction to Law and Family Law to first- and second-year students, while doing some research on the intersection between mental health and human rights law in Colombia. In 2021 she immigrated to the U.S. and driven by her passion for social justice, she decided that Esperanza would be a great place for her to provide legal assistance to immigrant families and by doing so, to support the protection and promotion of their mental wellbeing.
