Jonathan Vallejo
Managing Attorney
After interning with Esperanza in the summer of 2015, Jonathan Vallejo officially joined Esperanza’s staff in September 2016. At Esperanza, Jonathan primarily represents unaccompanied minors in removal proceedings and assists them in seeking Asylum or Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. Jonathan also provides legal information and orientations to respondents facing deportation without an attorney through Esperanza’s newest program, the Immigration Court Helpdesk (ICH). Prior to joining Esperanza, Jonathan received his B.A. from UCLA in 2013 with a major in Political Science and a minor in Chicana/o Studies. In 2016, Jonathan received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law with specializations in Critical Race Studies and Public Interest Law and Policy. During law school Jonathan served as the Co-Chair for La Raza Law Student Association and served as Managing Editor of the Chicana/o Latina/o Law Review.
