Rebecca Huertas

Becky Huertas has focused her career and her life on human rights and social justice. She was the Compliance Manager for the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco with responsibility for California, Arizona, and Nevada, enforcing compliance by financial institutions with fair housing laws, nondiscrimination requirements including anti-redlining provisions, and consumer protection laws including the Equal Credit Opportunity and Truth in Lending Acts. She has worked at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France and the Ireland Law Reform Commission in Dublin, Ireland. Prior to relocating to Southern California, she worked at the Cornell Center on the Death Penalty Worldwide advocating against use of the death penalty and other extreme forms of punishment with a particular focus on women charged with capital crimes. Becky is thrilled to join Esperanza in its efforts to support and guide immigrants through the complex process of seeking stability in the US.
